Would you like to sell goods or food from a stall or cart, such as a fish stall, a flower stand, or an ice cream stand? If so, you must apply for a street vendor permit from the municipality. This will allow you to set up your stall in a public outdoor area, such as on or along a public road.

What should I do?

You must apply for the permit with the municipality. When doing so, please provide the following information:

  • what goods or services you sell
  • Where you would like the location to be (with a site plan)
  • on which day or part of the day you would like to use the site

How long does it take?

You will be notified within 8 weeks whether you will receive the permit. If there is a waiting list or if the municipality has set a cap, it may take longer for you to receive the permit.

File an objection

If you disagree with the municipality's decision, you can file an objection within 6 weeks.

Additional Information

If the municipality does not own the land where you want to set up your stall, you will also need permission from the landowner.

A permanent stall permit is different from a market stall permit or a street vending permit.

You need a marketplace permit if you want a spot at a daily, weekly, or annual market. You need a street vending permit if you sell goods on the street or door-to-door. Street vending means that you sell your goods in a different location each time.
