Voorschoten Awards 2026

The Voorschoten Awards are an annual event to honor residents, associations, and organizations that selflessly dedicate themselves to others and to the local community. From youth coaches and board members to cultural leaders and social workers: each and every one of them deserves to be recognized. The unsung heroes behind the scenes—people and organizations that make the town stronger, more social, and more vibrant.

The working group that organizes the Voorschoten Awards consists of representatives from the municipality, Het Weekend van Voorschoten, the Sporttafel, the Cultuurfabriek, and Voorschoten Voor Elkaar.

This year’s festive awards ceremony will take place on Friday evening, September 11, 2026. And just like in previous years, this year’s event will also be held during the Voorschoten Weekend.

Categories

Starting in 2026, there will be five different categories. All of them focus on volunteer work and social impact. The categories are listed below:

  • Sports: For residents who volunteer to strengthen the sports community in Voorschoten.
  • Culture: For residents and organizers who enrich Voorschoten’s cultural life.
  • Youth: For young people who are committed to making a difference from an early age.
  • Well-being & Community: For residents who selflessly dedicate themselves to helping others and, in doing so, contribute to social cohesion in the village.
  • Organization: For associations, foundations, and initiatives that are committed to making a difference in Voorschoten through long-term volunteer work.
