Level of Maintenance of Public Spaces
The municipality is responsible for maintaining outdoor areas. This includes mowing the grass, picking up litter, emptying trash cans, and maintaining streets. This is done in accordance with a specific maintenance standard. There are several maintenance levels: A+, A, B, C, and D.
The maintenance standards for public spaces can be found in the Public Space Quality Catalog.
Maintenance Level C
In 2023, the Voorschoten City Council decided that the municipality would maintain public spaces at Level C. You can view this decision here: .
Maintenance Level C means that the municipality maintains public spaces in a simple and cost-effective manner.
That can get messy, with nearly full trash cans, weeds, and damage.
Helping with Greenery
You can help the municipality by maintaining green spaces in your neighborhood yourself—for example, by pulling weeds or teaming up with your neighbors to adopt and care for a small green space.
