Disability Parking Permit

With a disabled parking Map you can park in the disabled parking spaces in all EU countries, Liechtenstein, Norway, Iceland, and Switzerland. You must still adhere to local parking regulations.

There are 3 types of Maps.

Driver's Map

  • For at least half a year, you will be unable to walk more than 100 metre on your own, even with assistive devices such as a cane or crutches.
  • You are able to drive a car yourself.

Passenger's Map

  • For at least half a year, you will be unable to walk more than 100 metre on your own, even with assistive devices such as a cane or crutches.
  • You cannot drive a car yourself. You continuously need the assistance of a driver.

You can also apply for a combination of a driver's map and a passenger's map. For example, if you are permanently wheelchair-bound.

Institution Map

The management of an institution where people with a disability reside can apply for a disabled parking card for the transport of the residents.

How does it work?

  • The parking card is issued in the name of an individual.
  • The parking permit is not tied to a specific license plate. You can use the Map for any car.
  • The parking card is valid for a maximum of 5 years.

What to do?

  • You apply for the disabled parking card at the municipality.
  • A medical agency assesses your physical disability. The municipality determines which agency performs this assessment.

What do I need?

How long does it take?

Depending on the medical assessment, the processing time is 6 to 12 weeks.
