Sale of cut greenery, soil

The municipality is selling "snippergroen" plots. "Snippergroen" refers to small strips of public green space with no specific function that are directly adjacent to a property. Homeowners can purchase these strips of municipal land, subject to municipal approval. See "How does it work?" for the approval criteria.

The process takes 8 weeks. This time is fully required for the review and decision-making process.

How does it work?

The location is inspected based on the following criteria, among others:

  • Any plans or developments;
  • Any potential traffic-related consequences with regard to traffic safety and accessibility;
  • Presence of Street Furniture. If present, the municipality of Voorschoten will determine whether and how it can be moved;
  • Availability of fire department facilities;
  • Presence of sewer systems, cables and pipes, other utility infrastructure, and civil engineering structures;
  • Presence of green spaces that are part of the neighborhood structure or the main green infrastructure;
  • The possible presence of soil contamination or archaeological features.

Based on the points above, a decision may be made not to sell the property.
