Sale of cut greenery, soil
The municipality releases residual green space. Residual green space refers to small strips of public greenery without a significant function, directly adjacent to a property. Homeowners can use this to purchase strips of municipal land, subject to municipal approval. See 'How does it work?' for the approval considerations.
The procedure takes 8 weeks. This full period is required for investigation and decision-making.
How does it work?
The location is checked against the following criteria, among others:
- Any plans or developments;
- Any traffic-related consequences regarding traffic safety and accessibility;
- Presence of street furniture. If present, the municipality of Voorschoten determines whether and how this can be relocated;
- Presence of fire service facilities;
- Presence of sewerage, cables and pipelines, other utility services and civil engineering structures;
- Presence of green spaces belonging to the neighbourhood structure or main green structure;
- Potential presence of soil contamination or archaeological values.
Based on the above points, it may be decided not to sell the location.
How long does it take?
The procedure takes 8 weeks.
Costs
For non-buildable land, the costs are €200.00 per m²
For buildable land, the costs are €300.00 per m²
The minimum land price per transaction is €600.00
The request is free of charge and without obligation until a purchase agreement has been concluded. After that, administrative costs of €520.00 will be charged.
