Flea markt
A flea market is a markt where used or handmade items are offered for sale.
How does it work?
- If you want to organize a rommelmarkt in a building, you must apply for a rommelmarkt licence.
- If you want to organize a rommelmarkt outdoors (in public space), you must apply for an event licence.
What to do?
You can apply for the “ licence ” at your local municipality. When submitting your application, please provide the following information:
- where you want to hold the rommelmarkt
- date of the rommelmarkt
- what time the rommelmarkt starts and ends
- the type of rommelmarkt and the scale (such as the number of stalls)
- whether traffic measures are necessary
If you wish to play music and/or sell alcoholic beverages at the “ markt ,” you must apply for a separate “ licence ” or exemption.

The administrative fees amount to € 59.10 (2026)
Article 4 Exemptions
No fees are charged for:
activities that require a “ licence ” permit under the General Local Ordinance (APV) and that are organized by local groups, associations, and institutions operating on a nonprofit basis and for the public good, as evidenced by their articles of incorporation.
