Apply for a royal honor well in advance

Do you know a resident of Voorschoten who does tireless and selfless volunteer work or has achieved an exceptional feat? If so, you can apply for a royal honour, also known as a ribbon.

A royal honor is quite a honour. It represents a long journey for the person making the nomination and those who support it. Would you like to nominate someone for a royal honor? In Voorschoten, you can contact the Cabinet Affairs Department. A staff member there will be happy to explain the application process and procedure to you.

“Presenting a royal honour is one of the most wonderful duties I am privileged to perform in my role,” confirms Mayor Nadine Stemerdink. “It is wonderful to reward people for their dedication, especially when they do not expect it and the honour comes as a true surprise. I warmly encourage our residents to consider submitting an application.”

Submit your application on time

Processing the application carefully takes a significant amount of time. Therefore, it is important that you submit it well in advance. Would you like to submit an application for the royal decorations ceremony of April 2024? Please apply before 1 July 2023. Is it for a special occasion, such as an anniversary or retirement? Please apply at least six months in advance.

Once you have submitted an application, the municipality will initiate a comprehensive advisory and decision-making procedure on your behalf. The cabinet officer will inform you of the final decision.
