Electric driving

Municipality of Voorschoten stimulates the use of electric transport. Because electric cars are clean, quiet and efficient. Especially for electric cars, a large number of electric, public charging stations are spread throughout the municipality. There will be even more in the near future. Charging stations

If you live or work in Voorschoten and own a fully electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle, but do not have the opportunity to charge the vehicle on your own property, you can apply for a charging station. You can read more about this on the Charging stations, electric cars page.

Tax benefits for electric cars and motorcycles

The Dutch Tax and Customs Administration ( Rijksoverheid ) aims to encourage the use of clean and fuel-efficient cars and motorcycles. These vehicles emit lessCO2and thus contribute to a better climate and environment. Anyone who buys an electric car or motorcycle pays less tax.

For example, the following tax benefits apply to electric cars and motorcycles:

  • no purchase tax;
  • no motor vehicle tax.

Subsidy scheme for private electric passenger cars (SEPP)

Are you a private individual and are you buying or privately leasing a fully electric passenger car? Then you may be eligible for the Subsidy for Electric Passenger Cars Private Individuals (SEPP). This scheme applies to new and used electric passenger cars. All information about this can be found here. 

Car sharing

More and more people are sharing a car. By sharing a car you make an environmentally conscious choice and save significantly on costs. It is good for the wallet EN the environment. In NL there are many choices to share the car. 

Sharing your own car

You can either rent out your own car to people in the “ neighbourhood ” or rent a car from a neighbor. This is known as peer-to-peer car sharing. You can do this throughSnappCar. They ensure that the car is covered by comprehensive insurance during each trip.

Your own car sharing group

With a group of acquaintances you can set up your own car sharing group. The Association for Shared Car Use helps with setting up your own car sharing group, so that you can use one car with multiple people. By becoming a member of the association you support car sharing and benefit from the insurance and parking arrangement.
