Request a Marketplace

If you would like a spot at the markt , you must apply for a marketplace permit from the municipality. This applies to all types of markets:

day markt
weekly markt
annual markt (for example, a Christmas markt)

How does it work?

You can apply for a spot on the markt if you:

enrolled is registered with the Chamber of Commerce.
have legal capacity.

Permanent pitch

The waiting time for a permanent position varies by markt and by industry. If you are on a waiting list, you must have your spot renewed every year.

Daily pitch

Every market day, the market manager assigns daily spots by category to temporary vendors. Daily spots are permanent spots that become available when a vendor with a permanent spot is absent. The municipality will provide you with the licence , which you can use to enrol as a temporary vendor.

What to do?

You can apply for the “ licence ” at city hall. In your application, specify which “ markt ” you want to be listed on and what you sell.

Extra information

A marktplaats licence is different from a pitch licence. You need a pitch licence if you want to set up a pitch in an outdoor public space, for example on or along the public road.

The “ licence ” is personal to you, but it is transferable. If you know a business owner who wants to take over your spot, contact the municipality at authorisation to transfer your “ licence .”
