Childcare inspection

The GGD inspector will visit unannounced and check whether:

• your pedagogical policy plan is being implemented in practice
• there are enough staff members present for the number of children in care
• the groups are not too large
• every employee has a Certificate of Good Conduct ( behaviour , or VOG)
• every staff member holds the correct diplomas
• the childcare location is safe and healthy

The inspector also asks questions of the parent committee. The GGD draws up a report of the inspection.

For parents

In the National Childcare Register (LRK), you will find details of all childcare organizations that met the statutory requirements at their inception. You will also find each organization's registration number here. You may need this number when applying for childcare allowance. You can also download the GGD reports on the LRK website.

You must post the inspection report from the Child Care Inspectorate ( supervisor ) on your website. If you do not have a website, you must make the report available for review in a location accessible to parents and staff.

If you, as a parent, have a complaint about a childcare organization, you should first address your complaint to the organization itself. If you receive no response or your complaint is not taken seriously, you can submit your complaint within 3 months to the Childcare Disputes Committee.
