Redevelopment of the Intratuin Site
Last modified on: February 27, 2025
In collaboration with the municipality of Voorschoten, developer Synchroon has designed a new residential development for the former Intratuin site. A total of 129 homes have now been built, including 33 social housing apartments. This new residential neighborhood is called Het Fortuyn van Voorschoten.
Part of the design is the new access road between Voorschoten and Leiden. This road, Griffioenlaan, will eventually replace the current 50-km access road that runs along Leidseweg. The City of Leiden is currently reconstructingDe Groote Vink. This will ensure that the new access road is safely connected to Leiden’s municipal territory. In the future, Leidseweg will be open only to local traffic and slow-moving vehicles (emergency services, pedestrians, and cyclists and moped riders).
Current Status
All of the homes have now been completed. The public space has yet to be transferred from the developer to the municipality.
