Major Maintenance on Raadhuislaan, Oranjeboomstraat, and the Surrounding Area (including the roundabout)

The Municipality of Voorschoten is set to redesign several residential streets in the Centrum and Vlietwijk neighborhoods. The reason for this is to carry out necessary (major) maintenance on the sewer system and the roads.

Which streets?

The work will take place on the following streets: Raadhuislaan, Oranjeboomstraat, Sir Winston Churchillweg, Christiaan Huijgensstraat, Van Heuven Goedhartstraat, Prof. Asserlaan, and Koninklijke Marinelaan (between Zwaluwweg and Molenlaan). The Leidseweg/Raadhuislaan roundabout will also be modified to improve traffic safety.

Improving Public Spaces

Replacing the sewer system and maintaining the roads provide an opportunity to improve public spaces both functionally and aesthetically. Residential streets will therefore be addressed as a whole. This means that green spaces, water features, playgrounds, parking facilities, and (traffic) safety will also be improved.

Final Design

The final design is complete. You can find the design at the bottom of this page under “Documents.” You will also find a document here containing questions and comments raised during the residents’ meetings. This document also indicates which responses and comments have been incorporated into the final design.

The project schedule for the coming months is as follows:

  • The construction work on Raadhuislaan will continue until mid-July 2026.
