The Municipality of Voorschoten is installing barriers at the Trompweg-Leidseweg intersection

The municipality has installed concrete blocks, also known as barriers, at the intersection of Trompweg and Leidseweg. These barriers are intended to direct traffic to and from a section of the bus lane. Each direction of travel at the intersection now has one lane. This has “simplified” the intersection.

Traffic at the intersection is being rerouted along a short section of the bus lane to provide access to the construction site of the former Intratuin store. Once the homes are built, this road will become a permanent new road, and it will be redesigned later during the construction period. Construction is expected to take about 2 years. 

New Trompweg-Leidseweg Intersection

Upon completion of the Intratuin construction site, the current section of Leidseweg between Leiden and Trompweg will be converted into a dead-end road. Leiden and Trompweg will remain connected via a new junction through the residential neighborhood that is yet to be built. This road will also have a speed limit of 50 km. The bridge over the Korte Vliet will continue to be accessible only to buses and mopeds.
