Causing noise pollution
If you expect to generate enough noise that it could cause a disturbance, you will need a waiver from the municipality. For example, during construction work or an event.
What should I do?
You must apply for the exemption with the municipality. Please include the following information with your application:
- any activities you plan to do that may cause noise pollution
- the date and time when you may cause noise pollution
- site plan
- acoustic report
Think of the neighbors
To minimize the inconvenience to nearby residents, please be sure to do the following:
- You must inform nearby residents in advance of when and why the noise disturbance will occur.
- You should minimize instances of noise pollution as much as possible.
- If there's another way that causes less noise pollution, please do it that way.
