Disabled Parking Space
A disabled parking space is a parking space for people with a physical limitation. Other drivers are not allowed to park their car here.
You can apply for your own disabled parking space near your home or workplace from the municipality. You will then receive a reserved parking space where only the vehicle with your license plate is allowed to park.
How does it work?
You can apply for your own accessible parking space at the following web Requirements :
You are the driver
- To obtain a disabled parking space at your residence, you must be listed as a resident ( enrolled ) at that address in the Basic Registration of Persons (BRP).
- For a disabled parking space near your workplace, you need a statement from your employer confirming that you work there.
- The license plate of the vehicle is registered in your name or in the name of a member of your household.
- If the license plate is registered in the name of a leasing company or business, you need a statement from the registered holder confirming that you are the primary driver.
- You hold a disabled parking Map.
- You do not have your own parking facility, such as a garage or driveway.
You are the passenger.
- You cannot remain unattended at your home while the driver retrieves and parks the car.
- You are entirely dependent on the driver's assistance for door-to-door transportation.
- There are no possibilities to board or alight in front of your home or workplace.
- enrolled , you are listed in the Basic Register of Persons (BRP) at the same address as the driver of the car.
- The license plate of the car is registered in your name or in the name of the driver.
- If the license plate is registered in the name of a leasing company or business, you need a statement from the registered holder stating that the driver is the daily user of the car.
- You hold a disabled parking Map.
- You do not have your own parking facility, such as a garage or driveway.
What to do?
- Apply for the disabled parking space with the municipality.
- Please include the license plate number of your car.
- Clearly indicate where you would like the parking space to be located.
What do I need?
- (Copy of) your disabled parking Map
- Statement from your employer, if you are requesting the parking space near your workplace.
How long does it take?
You will receive a response to your application within 8 weeks. After that, it will take several more weeks for the parking space to be installed.
Costs
2026:
- The costs for installing a disabled parking space are €401.45. This excludes the costs for the medical examination.
- Replacement of a disabled parking space due to a change of license plate: €19.50
