Disabled Parking Space

A disabled parking space is a parking space reserved for people with physical disabilities. Other drivers are not allowed to park their cars here.

You can apply to the municipality for a designated parking space for people with disabilities at your home or workplace. You will then be assigned a reserved parking space where only the vehicle with your license plate number is permitted to park.

How does it work?

You can apply for your own disabled parking space under the following conditions:

You are the driver

  • To be eligible for a disabled parking space at your residence, you must be registered in the Basic Register of Persons (BRP) at that address.
  • To use a disabled parking space at your workplace, you need a statement from your employer confirming that you work there.
  • The vehicle's license plate is registered in your name or in the name of someone you live with.
  • If the license plate is registered to a leasing company or business, you must have a statement from the license plate holder confirming that you are the primary driver.
  • You have a disabled parking permit.
  • You do not have your own parking space, such as a garage or driveway.

You are the passenger

  • You cannot simply stay at your home while the driver picks up and parks the car.
  • For door-to-door transportation, you always depend on the driver's assistance.
  • There are no options for getting on or off at your home or workplace.
  • You are registered in the Basic Register of Persons (BRP) at the same address as the driver of the car.
  • The car's license plate is registered in your name or in the driver's name.
  • If the license plate is registered to a leasing company or business, you must have a statement from the license plate holder confirming that the driver is the primary user of the car.
  • You have a disabled parking permit.
  • You do not have your own parking space, such as a garage or driveway.
