Application Childminder agency or childcare centre

If you want to start a childminder agency or childcare centre, you must report this to the municipality. You must be included in the National Register of Childcare and Toddler Playgroups. Without this registration, the parents of the children you care for are not eligible for childcare allowance 

How does it work?

It is the task of the childminder agency to apply for the registration of childminders with the municipality. Anyone wishing to become a childminder must therefore contact a childminder agency. You must report any changes to your registration details to the municipality.

What to do?

You can apply using the application forms on the website of the Rijksoverheid provided by the Minister of Social Affairs and Employment. The GGD will review your application. Only after the GGD issues a positive assessment can the municipality en enrol you in the registry. The municipality will notify you as soon as you are enrolled.
