Today, the municipality of Voorschoten is presenting its cultural-historical value map. This map highlights all the historically significant buildings and landscapes in our village. Anyone can view the map on the municipality’s website.
The cultural-historical value map makes all historically significant buildings and landscapes in Voorschoten accessible to everyone. The map illustrates the cultural-historical significance of, for example, a monument, a parcel of land, or a village view.
Interested resident, homeowner, and notary
Councilman Hans van der Elst is one of the first to view the map. “I’m glad we can share this special map with everyone on our municipality’s website. Whether you’re an interested resident, a homeowner, or a notary, you can see exactly the status and history of a building or a piece of land. Curious as I am, I naturally looked up my own neighborhood right away. It’s amazing how this map brings our local history to life.”
Interactive Access to the Heritage Registry
The municipality of Voorschoten is required to maintain a heritage registry. The value map on the municipality’s website provides interactive access to the heritage registry. This aligns with the objectives of the upcoming Environment Act.
