The cultural-historical value map provides access to all historically significant buildings and landscapes in Voorschoten.
Implications for Professionals
The map shows the cultural and historical significance of the property in question. This information is not only interesting for those with an interest in the subject, but also very practical for various professionals. Notaries and real estate agents can now see exactly what the status and history of the building or parcel of land is. This is also useful information for homeowners, for example, when making alterations to their historic landmark or architecturally significant building.
Ready for the Future
The municipality is required to maintain a heritage registry. This digital value map makes the heritage registry accessible in an interactive way, which aligns with the objectives of the upcoming Environment Act.

Explanation of How to Use the Cultural-Historical Value Map
On the left side is an icon; below it are the themes that can be turned on and off.
- National Historic Landmark (blue)
- National Historic Landmark parcel (shaded in blue)
- Municipal historic landmark (green)
- Municipal historic landmark parcel (shaded in green)
- Listed Village (Center)
- Protect the Village Landscape (Estate Zone)

You can easily search by address using the box in the upper-left corner of the map. Clicking on a building and/or parcel with the cursor will display an information bar at the bottom of the screen. The entire complex will be highlighted on the map, making it clear which parcels and parts are part of the historic landmark. If this does not happen automatically, select the selection filter on the right side of the information bar.
Clicking on the complex or monument number opens a link to the explanatory description on the website of the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands. For municipal monuments, a PDF containing the explanatory description opens on the “Parcel” tab in the “Complex” column.
Under the "Protected Village View" column, a link opens to the relevant page on the municipal website.
