If you live in a house with a yard in Voorschoten, you have 3 trash bins for disposing of your trash:

  1. a blue bin for waste paper and cardboard
  2. a green bin for food scraps, vegetables, fruit, and yard waste
  3. a gray container for general waste

And you can request additional bins. The bins belong to the municipality and are assigned to your address.

The municipality empties the dumpsters

The city will come to empty the bins. The waste collection calendar lists when you can put these bins out on your street.

The municipality will empty the container if you follow the rules for putting out trash:

  1. Fill the container only with the waste it is intended for
  2. The container lid is closed
  3. The container of trash weighs less than 80 kilograms
  4. On collection day, place the container at the designated pickup location by 7:30 a.m.
  5. Place the container with its wheels facing the sidewalk, away from the street

The municipality will not empty your bin if you do not follow the rules for putting out your trash. You can then put your bin out again the next time, following the rules.

Please remove your container as soon as possible after it has been emptied. No later than the end of the day.

In hot weather, drop off your recycling bin earlier

When temperatures are high, the municipality begins emptying the bins earlier. This is due to the heat. By starting earlier, we better protect our employees from the heat. This helps us keep the work safe and healthy.
Please place your bin at the collection point by 7 a.m. on collection day. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
