Waste paper and cardboard

Newspapers, advertising flyers, envelopes, toilet rolls, and cardboard boxes: it is all waste paper. Waste paper and cardboard are recycled to produce new paper and cardboard. It can be reused up to 7 times.

Recycling saves a significant amount of ENergy, CO2 emissions, and trees. However, this is only true if you place the paper and cardboard in the designated waste paper and cardboard container. Paper and cardboard thrown into residual waste is unnecessarily incinerated.

Therefore, please place your waste paper and cardboard in the dedicated container. Fold, tear, cut, or crush boxes down to a smaller size and collect paper at home in a bag or box. This keeps the container tidy and allows more space for everyone.

Waste paper submitted for recycling must be clean and dry. Used tissues, soiled pizza boxes, and wet newspapers do not belong in the waste paper and cardboard container. Books, advertising flyers (without plastic wrapping), and clean cake and pizza boxes can be placed in the container.

Blue container

If you live in a house with a yard in Voorschoten, you can request a blue bin for paper and cardboard free of charge. Click on the link to submit a request.

The Waste Collection Calendar shows when the municipality will empty the bins on your street.

Underground collection containers

In the Waste Collection Calendar, you can see where the underground collection containers for waste paper and cardboard are located in your neighbourhood .

Fold, tear, cut, or crush boxes to make them smaller, and then put them in the container. This keeps the opening clear and allows more to fit inside.

Drop-off at the municipality

You can also drop off large cardboard boxes at the municipal office. You can do this at the facility located at Koninklijke Marinelaan 21 in Voorschoten. There is a compactor for large cardboard boxes there.

You can drop off boxes on Wednesdays from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
