Proof of Dutch citizenship

A certificate of Dutch NL is a written statement from the municipality. It states that you hold Dutch nationality. You may need a certificate of Dutch NL if, for example, you:

are moving abroad
are getting married
are applying for a position in public administration

What to do?

You can request the certificate from the municipality where you are registered enrolled.
If you require the certificate for an institution abroad, you can request a multilingual certificate.

How long does it take?

You will receive the certificate of Dutch nationality immediately. If you apply for the certificate in writing, the municipality will send it to your home address. This takes a few days.
