Proof of sponsorship and/or accommodation

For a visit to NL, some foreign visitors require a visa. To obtain this visa, a declaration of sponsorship is required in a number of cases.

In the proof of sponsorship and/or accommodation, you declare why you have invited the person. For example, for a holiday. This helps them to obtain the visa.

What to do?

Check the website of Netherlands Worldwide to see for which nationalities a visa is mandatory.

You must fill out a form and have your signature legalised at the municipality. If you are married or have a registered partnership, you must both be present at the municipality and place your signatures there.

What do I need?

Please note:

Do not sign the form yet! Because your signature must be legalised, you may only sign in the presence of the municipal official.

How long does it take?

The municipality will immediately legalise your signature. You will then be given the form back right away.
