Automatic Energy Allowance for 2,690 Households
In the municipalities of Leidschendam-Voorburg, Voorschoten, and Wassenaar, 2,690 households have so far automatically received the 2023 energy allowance. This is thefirstgroup of residents for whom the municipalities know that their income meets the eligibility requirements.
The income data for asecond group is currently being reviewed. This includes:
- residents who received the energy allowance last year but do not receive benefits.
- residents who take advantage of low-income assistance programs, such as the Ooievaarspas.
If their income still meets the eligibility requirements, they will also receive the energy allowance automatically. We expect to be able to pay the energy allowance to this group by February 1, 2024, at the latest. Residents who are automatically eligible for the energy allowance will be notified.
Applications
In addition, there is athird group of residents with lower incomes who can apply for the energy allowance themselves. These are business owners and residents who may be eligible for the energy allowance but do not receive it automatically. To prevent duplicate payments, the application form will be available once all automatic payments have been processed. We expect the application form to be available on the Leidschendam-Voorburg municipal website no later than February 1, 2024.
