Serving Alcohol at an Event
If you wish to serve and sell alcohol during an event, you need an exemption from the municipality.
How does it work?
The following regulations ( Requirements) apply to the serving and sale of alcohol during an event:
- You are not permitted to serve and sell alcohol to minors under the age of 18.
- You are not permitted to serve and sell spirits (>15% alcohol) at the event.
- The person in charge of the alcohol:
- is at least 21 years of age
- Does not have a poor life behaviour (no criminal record)
What to do?
You apply for the exemption at the municipality where the event is taking place. Provide the following information with your application:
- date of the event
- the times at which you wish to serve alcohol
How long does it take?
You will receive a notification within 8 weeks regarding whether your exemption has been granted.
File an objection
Do you disagree with the municipality's decision? If so, you can submit an objection within 6 weeks.

Please note! You must also apply for an event licence from the municipality to organise an event.
