Closure of Voorschoterweg at Lammenschansplein Canceled
The previously announced evening and nighttime closures of Voorschoterweg near Lammenschansplein have been canceled. Work on the construction of the new Trekvliet Bridge will now be carried out during the day. However, there will be brief traffic stops on Voorschoterweg.

From August 17 through 21, Boskalis will install the final section of sheet piling for the construction pit. The construction pit is intended for the demolition of the old Trekvliet Bridge and the construction of the new Trekvliet Bridge. Sheet piles are long steel planks that are driven into the ground. They ensure that the construction pit remains dry, safe, and stable during the work.
How will the surrounding area be affected by the construction work?
- While the sheet piles are being hoisted, the traffic lights at Lammenschansplein will remain red for a few minutes longer than usual. The right lane toward Voorschoten will also be closed. These measures will be in effect from August 18 through August 21 between 9:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
- Most of the sheet piles will be driven using a vibratory method. The sound of the sheet piles being driven will be clearly audible in the surrounding area.
Trekvliet Closed to Vessel Traffic
For the demolition of the existing Trekvliet Bridge and the construction of the new bridge, the Trekvliet will be completely closed to navigation from August 15, 2026, through April 15, 2027.
