Get a COVID-19 vaccine without an appointment at town hall

Hecht GGD Hollands Midden is opening a temporary vaccination site at the “ town hall ” at Leidseweg 25 in Voorschoten. On Friday, November 17, December 1, and December 8, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., you can get a COVID-19 vaccine here without an appointment.

“The COVID-19 pop-up vaccination sites are primarily intended for people who have a harder time getting to our regular vaccination sites,” says Margreet Bekedam, vaccination manager at Hecht GGD Hollands Midden. “You can’t make an appointment at a pop-up site at Make an appointment. That means it might be busy right when you arrive. So please be prepared for a wait if you want to get vaccinated at a pop-up site,” she warns. Want more certainty about when it’s your turn? “There are also people who, due to a serious illness or disability, are unable to come to a vaccination site. We vaccinate these people at home,” adds Margreet Bekedam. If this applies to you, please call 0800 – 2077.

Who is eligible

This vaccination round is for people who are at higher risk of becoming seriously ill from COVID-19: people 60 and older, adults who are offered the flu shot, children and adults with underlying medical conditions, and pregnant women. Healthcare workers are also eligible to receive the vaccine to protect the vulnerable people in their care. This also applies to people with a vulnerable family member. This vaccination round will run through the end of 2023. For pregnant women and people at high medical risk, the COVID-19 vaccine will remain available even after that. The vaccine being administered has been adapted to the variant of the virus that is currently circulating widely.

With or without an invitation

Only people aged 60 and older will receive an invitation letter. This is being sent out in batches, so there are still invitations on their way. Some people will receive an invitation that already includes an appointment date, time, and location. The other groups eligible for this vaccination round will not receive an invitation. If so, please cancel your existing appointment. That way, there will be space available at our regular locations for someone else.”
