Woonzorg Nederland and the municipality sign a usage agreement for vacant apartments
On February 10, the housing association Woonzorg Nederland and the municipality of Voorschoten signed an agreement under which the municipality will make four vacant apartments on Raadhuislaan available for emergency housing for Ukrainian families.
Woonzorg Nederland owns the apartment complex near the roundabout on Raadhuislaan. The complex has eighteen units. A number of these have been rented out to people temporarily seeking housing through the vacancy management company Ad Hoc. The municipality is using four vacant apartments to provide emergency housing for Ukrainian families. They may continue to live there until March 2027 at the latest. The municipality is already considering the period that follows.
Practical solution
“I am very grateful to Woonzorg Nederland for this practical solution,” says Alderman Hans van der Elst. “When we approached the housing authority in November to request temporary housing for four Ukrainian families, they immediately got to work on this request. As a municipality, we believe it is important to keep the number of vacant homes in Voorschoten to a minimum. Woonzorg Nederland shares this goal.”
Ready as soon as possible
The apartments are now being prepared for use as emergency housing as quickly as possible. Woonzorg Nederland and the municipality will also continue to consult on housing units that may become available in the future.
