Change to the Waste Collection Schedule Due to Freezing Temperatures

Due to the persistent frost, the municipality was unable to collect the organic waste. The (narrow) roads were impassable for the garbage trucks, and the frost had caused the organic waste to freeze solid in the bins. The collection of organic waste will therefore be postponed by two weeks to week 8 (starting February 22).

Next week, general waste will be collected starting Monday, February 15. Because weather conditions are expected to be similar (slippery roads and waste frozen solid in the bins), it will take longer to empty all the gray bins in Voorschoten. It will therefore not be possible to collect paper recycling that same week. The trucks are urgently needed for general waste collection. The collection of paper recycling will therefore be postponed by two weeks.

In short:

• General waste will be collected during the week of February 15
• Organic waste will be collected during the week of February 22
• Recyclable paper will be collected during the week of March 1
