Alderman Hans van der Elst is stepping down
The “ executive board ” of the municipality of Voorschoten learned this morning that Hans van der Elst is stepping down from his position as “ Alderman ” effective immediately.
“The Municipal Council ( executive board ) has taken note of the decision by Alderman . Van der Elst,” says Mayor Nadine Stemerdink. “We regret this, but we also respect it. We thank Hans for his tireless dedication and collegiality during his time as Alderman of the municipality of Voorschoten.”
Portfolio Temporarily Divided
To ensure continuity of governance, the portfolio will be temporarily divided between the incumbent aldermen Pieter Varekamp and Hubert Schokker. The “ executive board ” will provide further information to the “ municipal council .” At a later date to be determined, a farewell will be held for former “Alderman ” Van der Elst.
