Work on the historic linden trees on Voorstraat and Treubstraat

On behalf of the municipality of Voorschoten, the Buitenhuis company will be carrying out work on the historic linden trees on Voorstraat and Treubstraat from Monday, January 13, through Thursday, January 30. A total of 85 linden trees will be pollarded. The work will take place on weekdays between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., except on Fridays due to the market.

Pollarding linden trees is a form of pruning in which all young shoots are cut back to the pollard to encourage new growth and keep the tree healthy. This is done mainly in the winter, when the tree is dormant. Pollarding prevents the tree from growing too large, protects against branch breakage, and creates habitat for birds and insects. Regular pollarding ensures that the linden tree retains its characteristic shape and remains strong.

Potential Nuisance

You may experience some noise from the work. No streets will be closed during the pruning, and the immediate area will remain accessible.
