Work on the Bertus van Akenlaan Bridge Deck

Work will begin on Monday, June 26, 2023, on the bridge on Bertus van Akenlaan near Middelgeestlaan. Sections of the bridge will be replaced. The work will be carried out by Schouls BV on behalf of the municipality of Voorschoten. The work will take place from 7:00 a.m. on Monday through 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 14. Bad weather may cause the work to be delayed.

Accessibility

The bridge will be closed during the work. Traffic will be rerouted via a detour. The detour will be marked by traffic signs.

Schouls BV will also be conducting work above the water of the Rouwkoopvaart from Monday, June 26, through Wednesday, June 28. During these three days, the passage under the bridge will be closed.

Bridge railing

Before maintenance work begins, the bridge’s current railing will be removed on Monday, June 12. This railing will be installed on the new bridge sections. A temporary railing will be installed in its place. The bridge will remain open to traffic while the old railing is being removed and the temporary one is being installed.

Nuisance

You may experience some noise or other disturbances while the work is being carried out. The municipality is working with the contractors to minimize these disturbances as much as possible.
