Going Back to Work

There are several ways we can help you.

Education

You can enroll in a program at a school that accommodates your children’s school schedules. Sometimes they even offer childcare. You can also take the program part-time.

Financial Assistance

You can apply for financial assistance to cover costs related to your return to work. The amount you receive depends on your income.

Child Care Cost Contribution

You can apply for the child care allowance through the Tax and Customs Administration. The municipality may also contribute toward the cost of child care—for example, if you have a low income.

Work

You can start looking for work on your own right away. For example, through newspaper ads, at the UWV, through temp agencies, online, or through your own network. You can also re-enter the workforce if you get a subsidized job or do volunteer work.

Job Coach

A job coach helps people with physical, intellectual, or mental disabilities find or maintain a job if they are unable to work without support. This means you will only receive support from a job coach if it is necessary.

A job coach can support you with your tasks at set times over an extended period. The goal is for you to eventually be able to work for a regular employer without supervision.
