Weekend Closures on Europaweg and Lammenschansplein
More lanes, a taller bridge, and new green spaces. These improvements will allow traffic on the N206 Europaweg and Lammenschansplein to flow more smoothly and be more enjoyable than ever. Thanks to the temporary road and bridges, road users will be able to continue driving even while construction is underway. However, over the next three years, the roads are expected to be closed for a total of eleven weekends.

The first five weekend closures are scheduled for 2025 between Hofvlietweg and Rooseveltstraat. The exact roads and bike paths that will be closed will be announced in January. In case of inclement weather, the work will be postponed by one week.

Be prepared
Do you like to be well-prepared before heading out? Check your calendar. Do you have plans for any of those weekends? Allow for extra travel time. Traffic on the detour routes may also be heavier than usual. If possible, choose to bike or take public transportation, and check the route planner before you leave.
Waterway Blockages on the Rhine-Schie Canal and Trekvliet
The Rijn-Schiekanaal (the Vliet) and the Trekvliet will also be closed at various times. This applies to both commercial and recreational boating. The current schedule can be found at www.rijnlandroute.nl under the heading “N206 Europaweg.”
About the RijnlandRoute
The construction work is part of the RijnlandRoute, the new connection between Katwijk—via the A44—and the A4 near Leiden. The RijnlandRoute consists of three subprojects. The new N206 Tjalmaweg opened last year. The N434, including the Corbulo Tunnel, opened this summer. The N206 Europaweg is the third and final subproject.
