The Leiden region aims to phase out natural gas entirely by 2050. Six municipalities (Leiden, Leiderdorp, Katwijk, Oegstgeest, Voorschoten, and Zoeterwoude) are working with Energie Beheer Nederland and Firan to explore whether a heating company can be established to achieve this goal. To keep residents informed, the partners organized a webinar on November 19.
More than 200 residents of the Leiden region participated in the webinar. The Warmte Leidse Regio program team updated them on the progress of the study. In addition, the aldermen from the six municipalities discussed the heat transition with one another.
