Warm Rooms Open in Voorschoten
Starting this week, so-called “warm rooms” have opened at various locations in Voorschoten. These are spaces where the temperature is comfortable and where everyone is welcome to come and warm up for a while. It’s a great solution for those who can no longer keep the heat on all day at home due to rising energy prices.
As in many places in the Netherlands, the library in our village also serves as a warm place to gather. Esther Habers, director of OBVW: “The Voorschoten Library aims to provide a place throughout the year where everyone can come and feel welcome and at home. But especially during this winter season, such a place has become even more important, particularly for people who are struggling due to high energy prices.”
The library at Wijngaardenlaan 4 is open seven days a week. Residents can relax and read a book, newspaper, or magazine. Of course, Wi-Fi is available, and anyone who wishes can participate in the activities offered there. You can find the exact opening hours on the library’s website at .
Community centers are also opening their doors
The library is happy to welcome residents. Community centers are also opening their doors. In collaboration with Voorschoten Voor Elkaar, the following warm rooms are open:
- Alettahof Activity Center: Monday, 10:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
- Vliethuis Community Center: Tuesday, 10:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
- De Boschbloem Community Center: Thursdays, 10:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
