New Year's Eve should be a safe celebration for everyone. Therefore, in Voorschoten we consider one another, as well as people, animals, and nature.

Fireworks sales

No licences have been issued for the sale of fireworks in Voorschoten.

You may only purchase consumer fireworks that are permitted for private individuals. This concerns category F1 and F2 fireworks. Professional fireworks are prohibited for private individuals; these are category F3 and F4 fireworks. You are not permitted to buy or possess these fireworks.

Lighting fireworks

You may light fireworks from 31 December 2025 at 18:00 until 1 January 2026 at 02:00.
You are only permitted to light fireworks from categories F1 and F2.

Fireworks-free zones

In Voorschoten, the following locations (including their immediate surroundings) have been designated as fireworks-free zones by formal resolution. Lighting fireworks is not permitted here from 31 December at 18:00 to 1 January at 02:00:

Report fireworks nuisance?

Are you experiencing a nuisance from fireworks? You can report this. Where you should report it depends on the situation.

Situation 1: it is happening right now and you know where it is coming from

Call the police immediately: 0900 – 8844.

Do you see fireworks being lit, or do you know the location or individuals involved? The police can then take immediate action.

Situation 2: the nuisance has already passed, or you do not know where it is coming from.

Report this to the municipality. Your report helps us obtain a clear picture of locations where fireworks nuisances occur more frequently. The municipality cannot take immediate action regarding your report, but all reports are registered. Our municipal enforcement officers (BOAs) pay extra attention to locations with frequent reports, helping us prevent future nuisances.
