Apply for a royal honor well in advance

Do you know a resident of Voorschoten who has been tirelessly and selflessly volunteering or who has achieved something exceptional? If so, you can apply for a royal honor, also known as a “lintje.”

A ribbon

A royal honor is a great distinction. It represents a long journey for the person making the nomination and those who support it. Would you like to nominate someone for a royal honor? In Voorschoten, you can contact the Cabinet Affairs Department. The cabinet advisor will be happy to explain the application process and procedure to you.

“Presenting a royal honor is one of the most rewarding things I get to do in my role,” confirms Mayor Nadine Stemerdink. “It’s wonderful to be able to recognize people for their dedication, especially when they aren’t expecting it and the honor truly comes as a surprise. I warmly encourage our residents to consider submitting a nomination.”

Submit your application on time

It takes a lot of time to carefully process the application. It is therefore important that you submit it well in advance. Would you like to apply for the April 2027 Honours List? Submit your application by June 1, 2026. Is it for a special occasion, such as an anniversary or a farewell? Submit your application at least six months in advance.

Once you have submitted an application, the municipality will begin a comprehensive advisory and decision-making process on your behalf. The cabinet advisor will notify you of the final decision.
