Voorschoten Signs the Regional Implementation Agenda

Minister Hugo de Jonge and approximately twenty officials, including Alderman Hans van der Elst, signed the Regional Housing Implementation Agenda for Holland Rijnland last Tuesday. By doing so, the signatories have committed to helping resolve the housing crisis. The signing took place at the South Holland Provincial Government Building.

The agreements in the Regional Housing Implementation Agenda for Holland Rijnland—also known as the “housing deal”—cover, among other things, the number of homes we will build together, how we plan to accelerate our plans, and how we will collaborate. It also outlines the critical success factors that will ultimately determine whether we can achieve our goals. These include issues such as nitrogen pollution, mobility, scarce resources, procedures, and so on.

The agenda was signed by Minister Hugo de Jonge of Housing and Spatial Planning, Provincial Executive Member Anne Koning on behalf of the Provincial Executive of South Holland, the chair of the Holland Rijnland Wonen umbrella organization for housing associations, all board members of housing associations in Holland Rijnland, and the aldermen responsible for housing in the municipalities of Holland Rijnland.

Good news for Voorschoten

Alderman Hans van der Elst is pleased with the agreement. “The fast-track committee, in particular, is good news for Voorschoten,” he explains. “It makes it possible to quickly resolve bottlenecks through advice and consultation, so that implementation doesn’t come to a standstill. Incidentally, we also already have the Regional Housing Agenda, which includes agreements on housing construction in Voorschoten. Should the agendas conflict, we will consider the Regional Housing Agenda to be the guiding principle.”
