Voorschoten is once again participating in the bicycle lighting campaign
This fall, the annual regional bicycle light check campaign will take place once again. Cyclists can have their lights checked for free and repaired if necessary. The regional campaign day is Saturday, November 2. The campaign week runs from Monday, November 4, through Saturday, November 9.

Fall has begun, and the days are getting shorter again. For your safety and that of others, it’s very important that you’re clearly visible in traffic. That’s why municipalities, the Fietsersbond, and Veilig Verkeer Nederland are once again organizing a bicycle lighting campaign. They’re doing this in collaboration with bicycle dealers. On the day of the campaign, you can have your lights checked at participating bike shops. If repairs are needed, you’ll only have to pay for the parts—not for labor.
“‘Turn on your lights’ is one of the slogans of this campaign for a reason,” explains Councilman Hubert Schokker. “I also enjoy biking to City Hall myself. But I want to do so safely—for my own sake and for the sake of other road users. That’s why I’ll definitely be stopping by the bike shop on Saturday, November 2.”
Special offer for all residents of Voorschoten
In Voorschoten, the bicycle light campaign will take place on Saturday, November 2, at Rijwielspecialist G. Besuyen, located at Voorstraat 13. You can also visit them during the week of Monday, November 4, through Saturday, November 9. During that time, they will offer a 10% discount on the total cost of bicycle light repairs (parts and labor).
Take advantage of this promotion. The police and special enforcement officers are, of course, constantly checking to make sure bike lights are working. But because of this promotion, they’ll be conducting inspections a bit more frequently in the coming weeks. So make sure your bike is fully prepared for the darker days ahead!
