Voorschoten has a new municipal executive
Voorschoten has a new municipal executive and two new council members. Rachèl van Hellemondt, Pieter Varekamp, and Esther Mieremet were appointed and sworn in as aldermen. During the same meeting, Marja Nell and Wouter van Bijsterveld were sworn in as council members.

Rachèl van Hellemondt (PRO) has been appointed alderwoman with responsibility for Social Services, Public Health, Spatial Planning, and Sports. Pieter Varekamp (VVD) has been assigned the portfolio of Finance, Waste Management, Municipal Real Estate, and Regional Affairs. Esther Mieremet (D66) is the new alderwoman for Economy, Energy, and Sustainability, as well as Education and Culture. Marja Nell (PRO) and Wouter van Bijsterveld (D66) will fill the vacant seats on the council.
Coalition Agreement
Over the next four years, the municipal executive will be working to implement the coalition agreement titled “Making Choices Together for a Better Voorschoten.” The agreement outlines the goals for a safe, socially inclusive, and green Voorschoten; for the construction of affordable housing; for educational facilities; for quality public services and a favorable business climate; and for providing opportunities to all residents of Voorschoten.
