Preliminary Consultation
The preliminary consultation is an informal, informative phase that may precede your formal application for an environmental permit. During the preliminary consultation, the municipality will let you know whether the plan is viable and eligible for a permit. Possibilities and limitations may also be discussed.
You are not required to submit a request for a preliminary consultation with the municipality. However, it can provide a great deal of clarity. If you want to know whether it makes sense to apply for an environmental permit and want certainty about what you need to apply for and submit, it is helpful to take advantage of the preliminary consultation.
