Preliminary Results of the 2026 Municipal Elections
13,345 residents of Voorschoten, representing a turnout of 66.11%, went to the polls on Wednesday, March 18, for the municipal elections. Immediately after the polls closed, the poll workers began manually counting the votes by ballot.

“Together, we can look back on a special election day,” said Mayor Nadine Stemerdink. “Volunteers at the eighteen polling stations and municipal staff ensured everything ran smoothly all day long. Eighteen-year-old residents voted for the first time. Residents with visual impairments used the voting booth in the Dorpskerk. Volunteers from the Cirkelbus drove elderly residents to the polling station at Kasteel Duivenvoorde. Charles Groenhuijsen did a fantastic job hosting the election night event at the Kruispuntkerk. Clients of Zij aan Zij served homemade snacks there. And Centraal+ provided live coverage. Many thanks to everyone who helped out!”
