Report a Foster Child's Care Situation

• The municipality determines what kind of assistance and care is best for the child.
• If this involves foster care and you are not yet an official foster parent, an assessment will be conducted to determine whether you are suitable to be a foster parent. This assessment is carried out by a foster care agency.
• The foster care agency will apply to the Child Protection Board on your behalf for a certificate of no objection .
• If you are approved to become a foster parent for the child, you may receive compensation. You will also receive support from the foster care agency.

• You report that you are caring for a foster child to the municipality where you live.
• Please do this within one week.
• If your foster child leaves or passes away, you must also report this to the municipality.
