Voorschoten Youth Assistance Regulation 2026 Available for Public Inspection
A future-proof youth services system. To contribute to this, the Voorschoten Municipal Executive adopted the “Voorschoten Youth Services 2026” ordinance for public comment last Tuesday. The ordinance has been amended based on recommendations from the Holland Rijnland Youth Services Administrative Task Force. Furthermore, it aligns with the youth services ordinances in the Leiden region.
A key change in the regulation is that clearer guidelines have been established regarding what is and is not covered by youth services. The basic principle is that a youth’s own strengths, social network, and general services are considered first before specialized youth services are provided.
Weighing all interests
“We worked together with the other municipalities in the Leiden region to draft this ordinance,” says Alderman Hubert Schokker. “We believe it’s important for residents to have a say as well. We’ll take their views into account as we weigh all the interests involved to arrive at a final draft. We’ll present that to the city council in June.”
