Sale of the Ambacht and Baljuwhuis Properties Is Being Canceled

The municipality of Voorschoten conducted a competitive bidding process ( Requirements ) regarding the Ambachts- en Baljuwhuis. As a result of this process, Boris Bayer Beheer BV emerged as the most suitable bidder. When selling real estate, the municipality of Voorschoten acts as a private party but is nonetheless bound by public law standards. This means that the municipality of Voorschoten must, among other things, act with due care and transparency during the sales process and must also respect and ensure the principle of equality throughout the process. However, public law standards were were violated.

There is reason to believe that the purchase agreement with Boris Bayer Beheer B.V. will not be carried out in accordance with the offer made. Due to confidentiality obligations under public law, no further explanation can be provided at this time. If circumstances permit at a later date, the municipality of Voorschoten will issue a statement on the matter. The “ municipal council ” must therefore be asked to revoke its decision. The municipality of Voorschoten will reconsider the sales process for the Ambachts- en Baljuwhuis.
