Explorer recommends forming a coalition with GroenLinks-PvdA, VVD, and D66
Berend Potjer has completed his work as an explorer and submitted his final report to the Voorschoten City Council. The explorer recommends initiating substantive discussions with GroenLinks-PvdA, VVD, and D66 to form a stable majority coalition in Voorschoten.
Two weeks after the party leaders unanimously asked Potjer to explore the possibilities for forming a stable majority coalition, Potjer is issuing his recommendation today. The explorer thanks all seven parties for the pleasant, open, and constructive discussions. The discussions led to a clear conclusion that GroenLinks-PvdA, VVD, and D66 now have the opportunity to form a stable and effective majority coalition. He therefore advises them to begin substantive discussions in the near future to reach a coalition agreement and establish effective cooperation.
The investigator also concluded from the interviews that the entire council needs better resident participation, clearer and more transparent decision-making, and greater consistency within the council and the executive committee. In addition, maintaining an open and constructive atmosphere within the city council remains an important priority.
At a special city council meeting on Monday evening, April 13, at 9:00 p.m., the city council will discuss the final report from the facilitator and decide how to proceed toward substantive discussions.
