Traffic counts at various locations in Voorschoten

Starting Wednesday, May 10, traffic counts will be conducted at various locations throughout Voorschoten. The counts will continue through mid-June.

Traffic counts are conducted using traffic counting hoses placed on the road. The hoses remain in place at a location for two weeks and are then removed. We will be counting cyclists, cars, and trucks.

Traffic counters do not interfere with traffic flow. These traffic counts provide data such as the volume of traffic on the road, how traffic is distributed throughout the day, and driving speeds. The municipality uses this data for policy-making and as input for traffic studies. The counting process is completely anonymous and is not used to issue traffic citations.
