Velostrada

General Information

The Velostrada is a high-speed cycle route between Leiden and The Hague, which forms part of a network of high-speed cycle routes connecting (medium) large cities such as Leiden, Katwijk, The Hague, Zoetermeer, and Delft, EN through Voorschoten. The route is highly suitable for commuters EN recreational cyclists.

Improving the cycle route in Voorschoten 

The Province of Zuid-Holland and the Municipality of Voorschoten have conducted research to make cycling on the section of the route in Voorschoten even safer. Therefore, in 2024 we want to widen the curves in the cycle path. Because the cycle path is also frequently used by pedestrians, we want to construct several footpaths in the green zone next to the cycle path, ensuring there is enough space for both cyclists EN pedestrians.

Walk-in evening

To inform all residents about the planned work, the Municipality of Voorschoten and the province organized a walk-in evening. This walk-in evening took place on March 20, 2024, at the Village Church in Voorschoten. During the evening, staff members from the province and the municipality were present to answer questions. Visitors could also view drawings of the new situation.
