Your rights and obligations

If you come to apply for a Social assistance benefit , we will first talk with you. After all, anyone who is able to work should also work. We will therefore ask you to provide documentation of all your job search activities. If you are unable to find work, even with assistance from the municipality, we will process your application for a Social assistance benefit .

What are your obligations when you apply for a Social assistance benefit ?

You are required to:

  • enrolled are registered as job seekers with UWV WERKbedrijf;
  • provide for your own livelihood as much as possible;
  • apply for all types of standard work;
  • cooperate with the support provided by the municipality, such as a job application course;
  • provide the municipality with accurate information. For example, if you start cohabiting, you must report this, as it affects the amount of your benefit.
  • cooperate with home visits and psychological and medical examinations if the municipality deems this necessary;
