Benefit for Older and Partially Disabled Workers (IOAW)

You can receive IOAW benefits if you meet certain requirements:

• You were born before January 1, 1965, became unemployed on or after your 50th birthday, and received unemployment benefits for more than 3 months.
• You are no longer eligible to receive unemployment benefits.
• You were born before January 1, 1965, and began receiving WGA benefits (benefits for people with partial work capacity returning to work) on or after your 50th birthday, but these benefits were discontinued because your reassessment showed that you are less than 35% unable to work.
• You do not have enough income to live on.

Are you unemployed or will you become unemployed between September 30, 2006, and January 1, 2020? Were you or are you 60 years of age or older at that time? If so, you cannot apply for IOAW benefits. You are, however, entitled to IOW benefits. You can apply for these through the UWV website at.

Compulsory Labor

If you receive IOAW benefits, you—and your partner, if you have one—are subject to the work requirement. The work requirement entails the following:

• You are looking for a job and accept a job offer.
• You are using a municipal program that can help you find work or become active in some other way.
• You are participating in an assessment of your employment options.

You can apply for the benefit through werk.nl. Log in with your DigiD. If you don't have a DigiD, call the Werkplein office in your area.

Your application will be sent to the municipality. You will then be notified automatically whether you will receive the benefit.
